Poetry was the start of D.F. Huettner's writing in the fifth grade. Prose came in junior high school as he turned in short stories for extra credit. He wrote his first novel in the tenth grade.

    His short stories have appeared online in Planet Magazine, Nuketown News, and Indian SF as well as Literary Journals - Eskimo Pie and Forge .  His poetry has appeared online in Rogue Worlds and in the print Literary Journal, Harlequin Creature.

    His non fiction article appeared in Ships In Scale magazine, a print mag for those who build scale ship models, a hobby Mr. Huettner enjoys.

    Besides stories and novels, Mr. Huettner has written an operetta, music and book, as well as many songs and poems. His favorite form of poem is the Shakespearean sonnet, and he has begun a series of science fiction sonnets.
